His Ways > Our Wants

There are things we want for ourselves—dreams that feel right, goals that seem reachable, and moments we imagine as the best possible outcome. But then life happens differently. Doors close that we thought should open. Opportunities slip away. People walk out. The timeline shifts.

In those moments, it’s easy to wonder: Why would God let this happen?

The truth is, God sees a much bigger picture than we do. He knows how every decision, every “yes,” and every “no” will ripple through our lives and into the lives of those we love. While we’re focused on the next step, He’s already working out the next chapter—and sometimes even the next generation.

What you think is a setback might actually be protection. That job you didn’t get might have kept you from missing time with your family. That relationship that ended might have freed you for the one that will help you grow in faith. That closed door might have saved your peace, your health, or your purpose.

God’s “no” is never a rejection—it’s often a redirection.

We see what we want.

He sees what we need.

And His plan is always rooted in love.

If something you wanted didn’t work out, it might be because He’s preparing something better for you—or for your children—something you can’t yet imagine. The blessing may not come in the way you pictured, but it will always come in the way you need.

Trust His timing. He’s never late.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

— Isaiah 55:8–9

Hold on to that truth. God’s plan and timing are always perfect.
